film raised me / liv
I grew up with photo albums

I grew up flipping through photos of me and my sister as babies, laughing at our bad haircuts and asking "where did that toy go?" I grew up showing my friends photos of my dads cool red telecaster guitar and remembering how we spent weekends dancing to bare naked ladies in the living room. I grew up not knowing how dearly I would hold those memories today, and how grateful I would be the adults in my life took the time to document them.

NOSTALGIA CENTERED FAMILY PHOTOS FOR THE KEEPSAKERS AND MEMORY MAKERS

"We want to remember how our family felt, not just how we looked when we got dressed up"

"It's special to think that our kids will gather around photo albums the same way we did"
"The fact that we have these physical reminders of what we may one day forget is evidence that the only right time to take them is now"

Why does film matter?

In a fast paced, ai driven, and instant gratification centred world, film forces you to slow down. The labour of love that is shooting a roll, manually developing it, scanning those frames, and then finally being able to see the photos for the very first time, is it's very own form of magic. Whether your entire album is shot on film, or you choose a hybrid mix with digital as well, there is something to be said about the timeless preservation that the medium creates. After all, there's a reason flipping through your childhood albums feels so special. The colours, the grain, the nostalgia it creates, is inifite.
